One of the best guitar players in the world today, with his signature on two Fender models in Japan, Richie Kotzen didn't start out Independent, but apparently has been led to it by the perceived lack of demand in "main stream music" today for "classic" rock guitar. In his own words, . . ."there is no real guitar player in mainstream music . . . there was a time when there were tons... clapton, van halen, jeff beck, srv, frampton, all different styles and all selling millions of cds... now there are zero...." Or, perhaps, he just grew to the point where he could produce his own music and avoid the frustrations of the labels and their contracts. Whatever the reason, we are glad Richie has gone Indie! Formally with the RIAA Label, Shrapnel Records, Richie now records with HEADROOM-INC, which, we believe, is his own label.
